What our patient’s say…
“I would like to thank Robert Griffiths for the brilliant therapy I received from him recently. I have had problems with my lower back for 20 years and as time has gone on have been advised that I should give up exercise, particularly running, however exercise is the one thing I can’t live without. What I liked instantly about Robert was that he was quick to diagnose my problem and dispel many of the myths I had been told by other practitioners. He also advised after only a couple of months of therapy that I could continue with exercise if I adequately cared for my back and continued to strengthen my core muscles in the way he had taught me. Many thanks Robert for all your help and knowledge! Penny, Finance Analyst.
The term ‘sports injuries’ covers a broad range of conditions. Here at Pro Performance we play sports (lots of them) so we understand how poor technique and faulty biomechanics affect your body. This means we are perfectly placed to treat and prevent every kind of sports injury.
Following an injury, we will talk to your sports coach, personal trainer, golf pro or pilates/yoga instructor, working with them to ensure you return to training stronger than before.
Sports Injuries Treatment Guide:
1. Following a full case history and physical exam, we will recommend a tailored treatment plan for your injury.
2. Improving your pain and rehabilitating your injury back to full strength are the top priorities. Treatment consists of releasing the tension from the injured area, using stretching, joint mobilisation, Neuro-Muscular Re-educationTM (NMR), medical acupuncture and ultrasound.
3. We rehabilitate the injury using proprioceptive training and corrective rehab exercises. The sports injury rehab programme is an essential part of treatment that must be performed correctly. We will show you how to perform them and check your progress every step of the way until you are recovered.
4. We will also look at other important factors that can contribute to your pain. Advice regarding footwear, orthotics, training programmes/techniques, running style and home stretching is vital to your long-term recovery.
Please note, that every person is different and we will treat you depending on your individual problem.
